Musculoskeletal physio
Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy relates to the treatment of the musculoskeletal system. This involves the advanced clinical assessment and diagnosis of the body's complex network of muscles, tendons, bones, joints, nerves, ligaments and cartilage. Injury can occur to any one of these structures and it is best to seek early diagnosis and treatment. Our teams of specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapists have been trained to a higher level of knowledge to provide a bespoke comprehensive patient centered assessment, diagnosis and treatment program for patients with this type of pain and dysfunction.
Musculoskeletal physiotherapists regularly see the following types of pain and dysfunctions: neck pain; back pain; shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist problems; foot and ankle injuries; knee and hip problems; post orthopaedic surgery; trauma rehabilitation and post fractures. The clinicians utilise a variety of treatment techniques including education, exercise therapy, mobilization and manipulation techniques, postural re-education, manual therapy, taping, acupuncture, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, electrotherapy and orthoses aiming to ease your pain, stiffness or regain quality of life enabling a speedy recovery. Treatment also aims to prevent future injury recurrences.
